2018 Financial Audit

On November 23, 2021, the Court overseeing the Tightwad Fire Protection District ordered a financial audit for 2018-2020 (click here for the order). The auditing firm of Troutt Beeman & Company was selected to perform the audit.

2018 Board of Directors

Sitting on the Board of Directors of the Tightwad Fire Protection District during 2018 was Jeremy Smith, Candy Smith, and Mark (Chris) Smith, who was appointed on January 13, 2018 to fill a vacancy created on December 9, 2017).

Auditor's Opinion

The financial audit of 2018 has been completed. Due to the conditions of the District's financial records, the Auditors were unable to obtain sufficient appropriate audit evidence to provide a basis for an audit opinion.

Significant Deficiencies

However, the Auditors were able to identify over two dozen significant deficiencies as described starting on the 18th page of the portable data file (PDF) of the Auditor's report.
