Hazardous Materials Emergencies

Filling Swimming Pools

The District is unable to fill the swimming pools of District residents for one reason:  For every 1,000 gallons of water in the District's fire trucks, we add about a quart of dishwashing soap to help lubricate and increase the life expectancy of the pump on the fire trucks.  That much soap will make one giant bubble bath, but not a great swimming experience.
