On November 20, 2025, the Board of Directors of the Tightwad Fire Protection District adopted Resolution 25-09, which in part requires a general municipal election to be held on April 7, 2025.

At the time of filing, candidates must sign a Declaration of Candidacy in the presence of the District's Fire Chief (not before!) as well as a number of other affirmations:

• Affirmation of Constitutional Qualifications
• Affirmation of No Convictions
• Affirmation of Paid Taxes
• Missouri Ethics Commission Notice to Candidate and 2025 Ethics Guide

Candidates must also provide the Fire Chief with a copy of the Missouri Department of Revenue Form 5120 (the origninal must be notarized and sent to the Missouri Department of Revenue; the copy provided to the Fire Chief must be a copy of the form with the notarized signature, but the copy does not have to be notarized).

Finally, candidates must pay a $100 filing fee to the District's General Fund as required by RSMo 321.210.
